Forget the sodium bomb that packaged seasonings bring, and make your own delicious low sodium taco seasoning! Perfect for taco-style beef, chicken, turkey, or beans!

  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 2 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp oregano leaves
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper optional


  • Combine all seasonings.
  • Use 2 tbsp of seasoning per 1 pound of meat or beans. Add 1/3-1/2 cup of water with seasoning to meat. Stir and let simmer until the liquid as thickened.
  • Store in an airtight container for 3 months or to the closest expiration date of the seasonings used. This recipe makes 8 tbsp, or enough to season 4 pounds of meat or beans.


This recipe makes enough seasoning for 4 pounds of meat/beans, with 2 tablespoons of seasoning per pound of meat.
