Brownie Batter Dark Chocolate Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 can 14 oz can garbanzo beans also known as chickpeas
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder can use regular or dutch processed
  • 1/4 cup tahini sesame seed paste. Or substitute with another nut or seed butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp milk may need an extra tbsp to thin out
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients(beans, brown sugar, cocoa powder, tahini, maple syrup, 2 tbsp milk, vanilla extract) EXCEPT for the mini chocolate chips to a food processor.
  • Process until smooth for about 2-3 minutes. Add the additional tablespoon of milk if the mixture seems too thick.
  • Once smooth, fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  • Store brownie batter hummus in the refrigerator in a covered container for 5-7 days.

Notes

For a creamier texture, remove the skins from some or most of the chickpeas before putting into the food processor. 
If you don't have tahini or worry you won't use the whole jar, just use your favorite nut or seed butter. It will change the taste slightly, but will still be delicious and creamy!
